i bought an old set of nike pro combos and had them sent out to golf works to get re chromed and regroved . Then i transfered colleges and started playing with their golf team, and it turns out that they can get monstrus discounts on equipment. everything is titleist in my bag except for my irons and i used to use 690.cb’s. should i get rid of the pro combos and get a new set of 695cb’s (brand new) for $220?

Definately…. You can sell them used for that if you don’t like them. Will they be custom fit for you like Pings?

In a heartbeat. Titleist has so many options when it comes to irons, wedges and drivers. The only thing that I would leave out for myself would be the driver. I have never been able to consistently hit a Titleist driver. Big fan of Ping Drivers over the last 5 years.
This also depends on what type of player you are. You play in college so you must be decent.
On the titleist.com website,it can help you find a fitter in your area.
good luck and hit em straight!!

i don’t like the titleist blades. They just don’t feel right to me. I don’t even like their balls, again, they’re too clicky and tough. I’ll wear the hat but thas’ about it.

I think many have overlooked an important aspect of your question. Here’s my question to you…REGARDLESS of the brand, which set do you hit better. I take it that you could probably try the 695cbs and try your nike combos. Take them to the range, BUT be realistic about both sets. Both are solid name brand equipement, so don’t let the name brand thing bother you. Check to see which set is more workable (fade/draw/straight) etc. Check and find which set you hit further…just b/c one set gives you a couple more yards doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re better. Also check to see what set gives you the most consistent results.

In the end check both sets for the following…..THE MOST:
1. Control
2. Workability
3. Consistent

Do the above and you’ll never go wrong. Will it take time? Yes…possibly several days, but will you get results? Yes, and that’s what you want in the game of golf.

Hey I hope this helps, and Good luck with your Game!!!!!!!!

It all depends on what works best for me I mean the wedges and putters I love in titlest because they give me great results but for my woods and irons I like nike, adams, or ping. It all depends on who u r, what u like, and ur stature.

Everyone has their own likes and dislikes about different equipment, but I would urge you to get the Titleists at such a great price and at least try them. If you find you don’t like them you could sell them used and probably still make money on the deal.

100% you should do it because you won’t get a second chance

I agree with Flatstick above me. If you have the money, just buy the set, especially at that price. At the very least, you can mess around with it in the off-season, and if you still don’t like it, you have a heck of a good backup set to sit in your garage…

By the way, if you like my answer, instead of the 10 points, you can just pick me up a set too…I’m sure I can scrape up $220!

No. I’d rather have all TaylorMade clubs, but with Titleist PRO V1x golf balls.

Well, if you can hit them better, sure. But if you can’t then you’re just throwing $220 out the window. Even if it’s a steal, so what? Any money you spend to stay the same or get worse is a waste.

You can make a sweet profit buying them and selling them on ebay.
